Ilina has a deep passion for Fashion and has proven to be one of the most hardworking, far-sighted students I have come across in my tenure as Director. Not only did she successfully amalgamate creative projects with her practical approach, but she also brought her proficiency in International Fashion, to the table.

In an institute with over 2000 students, she stood out as one of the most tenacious young professionals, with a remarkably prudent perspective. She is not one who is afraid to speak her mind, making her both a formidable team member and leader. Ilina juggled her time at college, and made a place for herself in the Indian Fashion industry, within four years. For various projects, she roped in industry professionals in capacities that would not occur to most students.

She has used research opportunities provided by the institute to create real-time solutions. An example of this was when she used a Craft Cluster Research Project to arrange, organize, and coordinate designer collaborations for weavers from downtrodden clusters. She used handwoven fabrics from these clusters to create contemporary auction-worthy pieces with two leading designers from the industry, proceeds of which were donated to the family that wove the fabrics. Ilina has always been ecstatic to make regular assignments and jury work more expansive and thorough, with every passing year. Her vision to expand on the smallest of ideas has superseded the school’s expectations, and we are confident of the bright future that lies ahead of her.
